Well everyone, this week we hit 2016 and I hit my 18 month mark.
Time has FLOWN! I can't believe I'm at this point....it's so weird.
But anyway, on to business!
Because
it was New Years we got to have SUPER PDAY!! What does that mean? P-day
all day long! And we got to watch G-rated movies and a few other
approved movies! The only movies we ended up watching were The Best Two
Years which was HILARIOUS as a missionary!! And The Other Side of
Heaven! I just cried a bunch in that one! I love being a missionary! But
other than that we just ate a lot of food and played games and partied
with the other sisters in our district! It was so fun!
Let me update you on all our lovely YSA peeps!
Baylee
is doing great! We had a couple of lessons with her this week and she's
doing well! She's still just trying to figure out if the Book of Mormon
is true! But she's working on recognizing the spirit which is good! She
knows her Bible very well and is very intellectual so we are trying to
get her to get off that just a little bit to really be able to feel by
the power of the Holy Ghost that that Book of Mormon is true.
Kyle is faaaantastic! We had a really great lesson with him this past week! Carlos came with us as his first member present! And oh goodness he was so awesome! He had so many great insights and answers to Kyle's questions! It was so cool! And we just had the most awesome lesson about the gospel of Jesus Christ and you can tell that this is really what Kyle wants! And he came to church and he's just progressing so well!! :)
Charlotte and the other Bailey are still out of town :(
Nathan
is doing pretty well. He hasn't really been keeping his commitments
very well though...and he seems to be losing interest which is a bit of a
bummer. We may be dropping him soon if he doesn't start to do
something. Tomorrow
we are having a lesson with him and we are really going to see if we
can help him to have the desire to progress and let him know that if
he's not willing to act we may not be able to teach him anymore :(It'll
be a bummer but hey, when we close a door then it means that God can
open another! Literally!)
So one of our members gave us a referral to his coworker who wanted to meet with us. Well we met with him on Monday and on Saturday.
His name is Josh. Well...he's interesting. I don't even know what he
is. For one thing, he really knows his Bible and and he's VERY skeptical
of the Mormon faith. I'm not sure he actually wants to know if the
church is true...but more to understand why we believe certain things
because it doesn't say it in the Bible or it goes against what the Bible
says and whatnot. It's been pretty horrible but he wants to meet with
us and he came to church yesterday and he's reading the Book of Mormon
so it's just a bit of a struggle. But they way he puts things....man it
is hard. Our lesson with him on Saturday
caused me to pretty hard core question everything that I believe not
going to lie. It was really hard. The dark cloud is doubt is really
overpowering. But I pulled through. I knew my testimony would win, even
in the midst of doubt but...man it's just so hard to explain how it
feels. But I'm good now! :) And now I'm just not sure how on earth to
teach him. It's just interesting because we brought out recent convert
named Ivan, who is SO solid, and he said he was almost exactly like Josh
is. So I have hope for Josh but just no idea how to go from here! We
are just going to pray really hard.
Sorry that this letter is pretty lame! Not that much happened this week but next week's will be good!
I
just want y'all to know that I know that this church is true! I know
that the Book of Mormon is true and I love it more than anything else! I
love my Savior Jesus Christ and I know that He lived, died, and that He
lives so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. And
I know that he suffered for, and died for us because He loves! I love
the scripture 2 Nephi 26:24: "He doeth not anything save it be for the
benefit of the world; for He loveth the world, even that He layeth down
His own life that He may draw all men unto Him." Christ is waiting with
open arms for each and every one of us! And He wants us there in his arms.
Have a wonderful week! :) I love y'all lots!
Love,
sister Myers
