Nashville Tribute Band and Ladybugs :)

There are ladybugs everywhere!!! Seriously!! It must just be that time of year around here. But really they land on you and on the houses and you kinda find one pretty much any time right now! It's crazy! Usually at home ladybugs are like such a great thing, but here people just kill them because they are so annoying and everywhere.

It's been a crazy awesome, sad, fun, and busy week. Yeah so here are the details. We've had some awesome miracles so that's good :)

Monday night we went finding and it was crazy because a few days before we had prayed and decided on these 2 streets we should go on. We went to one and there weren't any houses on that street. So we went to the other one but we both kept feeling like we should go back. So we went back and just tracted the streets by it and the 2nd house we knocked on was this girl who had a best friend who was Mormon and other Mormon friends and had been to church a couple of times. She also told us that she has been looking for the true church that is at least 99% true! Also she hadn't even read the BOM!! So we gave her one and she seems interested in reading it and we got her Facebook because she can easily be contacted there and it was just a super awesome miracle!! :) Then we realized as we were driving home that night that she is YSA. Really?

Yeah that didn't help us move into Tuesday. Skip called us and told us he doesn't want to continue. He's been learning for 7 1/2 months and had a baptism date. But he called us and told us that he was not going to convert because he believes that Roman Catholicism is good enough. But he likes our visits and learning about other religions. That's the short version. Halfway through the call I just gave the phone to Sister Weeks because I just started bawling! After we hung up with him I just cried for like 10 minutes and so did Sister Weeks. I just love Skip so much. Also, he was our only progressing investigator. We used our lunch to go see Sister Philburn (my mission mom, she is the best). That was helpful. Oh yeah and she took us down this road that Tim McGraw  filmed his music video "Highway Don't Care" and it was sweet! :)

I trained at district meeting on Wednesday! It was definitely better than last time I trained  because I had been preparing for a week and half...I still don't think it was very good but hey...hopefully someone learned something from the spirit. :)

You wanna hear a seriously crazy miracle???? Sorry I'm not telling. Haha jk. So we were in the car with Jim and Sheila because they were taking us to lunch after district meeting and randomly... like completely off topic Jim was like, "hey we've got some good news! Sheila and I are going to start coming to sacrament meeting." WHAT????? I was seriously so shocked that I didn't know what to say. Then he kept going and he was like, "but I do have some bad news...we can't come this week or the next but we will be there the next time." Are you kidding me?? That's the bad news?!! I seriously almost died I was so shocked/excited. Jim and Sheila Rider are coming to church!!!!! And what's more, Sheila was like, "yeah we'll probably just come to sacrament for a while so I can get used to it with Jim before we have to separate for the other meetings." Ah!!!! (For those who are confused and don't know who these people are: they are pretty much my mission grandparents! Jim is a member and Sheila is not and she has been pretty against the church and if you knew them you would know how much of a miracle this is!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

So then we were planning to find in this place called Colonial Estates because we had prayed about that and felt good about it. But then I realized I actually didn't know where it was. We were over by this one investigator's home and I was like, "this isn't it!" But we knocked a few doors and I was just not feeling it. So we looked on that map book thing and it said Colonial Estates so we went to a street in that area and knocked a few doors. That's when we found Lace! (Lacey, just weird spelling) She was so prepared! We gave her a Book of Mormon and taught her the restoration and it was just so awesome! She even told us that she had been having a rotten  day (her dad has cancer and all this other stuff), and then she got off early for like the first time ever.  So then she was just sitting at home praying for something to help her and we showed up! Ah!! Amazing! Solid new investigator! :)

Saturday we did SOOOOO much service! We went to David and Janet's and helped David and with the yard by raking leaves and leaf blowing all this other stuff. It was a lot of work! Then we went straight to Jim and Sheila's  and helped Jim fill in his pond! THAT was a lot of work. Shoveling dirt into a wheelbarrow about 30 times and then moving the wheelbarrow was a lot of work but I loved it. I love working. It's like working out but you get something out of it. And lately I have really loved working out.

On Sunday we got a visit from the Nashville Tribute Band!!!!!!! Well, they put on a fireside and we got to go if we brought an investigator and so we did! And guess what?? They called up all the missionaries since they have a ton of songs about missionaries and we sang with them!!! It was so cool!!! Some people took some pictures but I have to have Sister Weeks get them off facebook and I will send them next week!!! They are seriously so awesome but a lot of you probably don't even know who they are. But you should look them up because they are awesome and pretty much the only thing that we listen to!! :) Look them up!!!

Well, I think that's pretty much it for the week! I love you all so much!! Have a great week!! :) Also I hope this letter made sense.....

Love,
Sister Myers
P.S. This is the most giantist leaf ever....

David Archuleta speaks to TNM! :)

Hey y'all!

Yup! We had a mission conference yesterday and it was so awesome! Yeah I was sitting like 20 feet away from him! :) It was like that time when I saw him at the baptistry of the temple! That was crazy! :) Anyway, he basically just did a question and answer thing the whole time; he didn't prepare anything and it was so amazing! Such a spiritual meeting! Also, he sang the song "Glorious" that is at the end of "Meet the Mormons". Its interesting because he told us the story behind recording that for the movie. He said that he was near the end of his mission and his mission president called him in and asked him if he wanted to record the song for the movie that they were making and he said yes and even though he only had a few weeks left they didn't want to wait to record it. So he said that he recorded it with his missionary tag on. I seriously thought that was so cool. So, when you see the movie, that song you hear was being sung by Elder Archuleta! :) That was way cool. He also sang "Hark All Ye Nations" and "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus" - that one was incredible! :)

Also we took a Christmas photo of our whole mission and David Archuleta was in it! :) Sweet! :)

This week was pretty good...and don't worry I have more to say from this week! :)

We went to this member's house for dinner and it was so funny because they planned to feed us breakfast for it and they were going to make pancakes - but they realized they didn't have any pancake mix! Yikes! So they were looking in the pantry and found a ziploc back of what looked like pancake mix. So there was this discussion about what it was and they decided to try using it and see if it was pancake mix. Yeah it wasn't. But the pancake type things they made were like crepe's pretty much and were actually really good. We still don't know what we ate though so that's a little bit awko taco.

There were some crazy storms going on on Monday. There were tornado warnings! Which really doesn't mean much because they do that all the time and it never happens. But yeah it was pretty much just a crazy lightening storm - like lightening was going across the whole sky!!! It was so cool!!!

We had interviews with President this week and that was AMAZING!! Interviews are seriously the best thing ever!

Then we went and saw Renee and had a super spiritual lesson with her. We taught her the plan of salvation and pretty much ended up teaching her the gospel of Jesus Christ and talked about a baptism date with her. She wanted to set it like 2 years from now or something because she felt like she had to know everything. We talked to her about faith and how she doesn't have to know everything and whatnot and she set it for April 6. It's far away but if that's what she wants then so be it! (And maybe after she comes to church and after she learns more she'll want to get baptized sooner). I can understand her leeriness though. She said she really likes our teachings so far and she thinks it's where she's going to go, but I guess that has happened before. She was going to another church previously and she thought it was really great and she thought it was right and she got baptized and then she started to see like corruption and stuff and see didn't like some of the teachings. So now, she just doesn't want to jump in because she doesn't want to make that same mistake again. She'll get baptized eventually, I have no doubt.

Saturday evening the ward had a fall festival and that was so much fun. We judged the chili cook off which was so good. The Elders were supposed to do it but they were being slow coming so we did it! :) Anyway, that has nothing to do with anything but.....yea
Actually there's pretty much nothing else to say because...well yeah there's really nothing else to say! I hope y'all have a great week!

Love,
Sister Myers

P.S. Here are some pictures of me and my rainboots...in the rain.....and me and Michelle and Sister Weeks at the Mission Conference! :)

Shortest letter ya'll will probably ever get

Sorry. This is the shortest letter y'all will probably get from me. I really don't have hardly anything to say.

It has been raining SO much this week! I'm so glad I have rain boots because seriously it's insane.

I really only have one story/update for this week. So I while ago we told you about Renee (her son answered the door and he never does that and she said that she had been praying for a sign). So we have been working with her and we stopped by this week and she was telling us how this church was the way she wanted to go! I invited her to be baptized if she came to know that it all was true (she says she thinks it's true but she's not sure) and she said yes!! We didn't set a date though. Also her work schedule is changing so she'll be able to come to church in the next couple weeks!! Yes!! She is so prepared.I'm excited to see where things go with her.

I'm really sorry to say that that is really all I have for this week. It has been such a crazy week but nothing to really talk about. Everyone is doing great though. We had a couple of people drop us which was sad but our other people are doing really good.

I love y'all and I hope all goes well for all of you this week!

Love,
Sister Myers

T-R-A-N-S-F-E-R-S that spells Stressful! :)

Transfers are stressful! Let me just tell you! :) We just have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off today. Yeah...that's been fun. I still feel like we have about 5000 things we need to do. Okay not really...but really.

Also sorry if I don't make sense...what you run around with your head cut off it tends to make your brain a little bit scattered...literally.

I don't even really remember hardly anything that happened this week.

Oh yeah so we saw Meet the Mormons - SO GOOD! Seriously! If you are a missionary mom....welp, I dare you not to cry. That's all. But really ya'll should go see it if you have the chance - and encourage friends and nonmembers to see it! It's fantastic!

Oh so maybe I should tell you about transfers...considering that's the title of this email. Sooooo Sister Oldroyd is out! She was here for 7 1/2 months so yeah....she's headed to be a Sister training leader in YSA. That'll be fun. She'll be so good at it though. I'm getting Sister Weeks - she sounds nice! At least that's what I've heard! Anyway so today we have been getting Sister O packed up and I have been getting all OCD and cleaning the apartment like crazy! :) It's good though. I'm sad that Sister O is leaving though. She is seriously the best. But on the bright side I am DONE WITH TRAINING!!! WAHOO! I was not a fan of that! Now I have to take over the area! Yikes!

Conference was AMAZING!!! Ah!!! SO MANY GREAT TALKS!

Here are some of my favorites (that I can currently remember...I don't have any notes or anything with me):

Jorge Klebingat was my favorite! He talked about ways that we can have spiritual confidence and keep Satan out of our thoughts and that answered a lot of questions that I have had!

Henry B. Eyring...oh man

President Monson! I loved that one! We should all try to walk in the paths that Christ walked!

Oh and Elder Bednar. Wow. WOW!!! His was fantastic! I just want to print it out and give it to everyone we tract into! Not really...but really. Oh man....his story that he told killed me! I was laughing so hard! But it was also SO powerful! I am definitely going to use that story because sometimes it's hard to describe how amazing this gospel is and why we want to share it!

Also, I loved how people were able to talk in their native language! That was SO cool!

Yikes....um I'll probably have to send some more about what talks I liked next week.....when I have my notes......

I don't even really remember anything that happened this week. I'll probably just have to fill you in on like 29 things. Exactly 29. Just kidding probably 28.

Yeah I'm racking my brains. Apparently not much has happened this week.

The 2 pictures are the Sisters in the district and then us and the ZL's cuz we are all in the same ward and they are the best! Elder Laufiso, Elder Bastian, and then us of course! :) Sorry if the pictures are weirdly placed...not sure what's happening! :)

Love you all!
Love,
Sister Kaylee Myers
